Japan's Nyorai (real name Yusaku Iida) haas been making quite an impression since he burst onto the scene in 2020, releasing on labels in indie labels labels in Belgium, Italy, Spain and Japan.

His debut EP reached #1 on Traxsource and Juno download's Electronica charts, and last year, his debut album 'Rain Sounds' was selected as "Top Album" by Pitch Perfect magazine.

Harukaze is equal parts contemplative and euphoric. Yusaku has this ability to paint a variety of different shades within one album - something that i personally value very highly.

"Harukaze" in Japanese means spring breeze in English" explains Yusaku. "In Japan, it is also called 暄風(Kenpu), and has been used as an auspicious word since ancient times. Harukaze was created with the hope that with such a chaotic world, full of as COVID-19 and war, that humanity will move in a better direction. And It also contains the 禅(Zen) spirit that has been handed down in Japan since ancient times, that "all things are originally empty, and there is nothing to be attached to".The starting point of this work is the thought that now is the time for us humans to reconsider ourselves."

From the Skyliner sonics of 'Koro', to the dancefloor sensibility of 'Ryusui', right through to the 90's IDM of 'Vase' and 'Chrysanthemum', Harukaze is an absolute marvel from beginning to end.

Let the spring breeze take your mind to another place, even though it's still February.

A mixture of sequenced (maybe?) bloops, blips and blops and gorgeous ambient pieces. The former could double as library music for short animated films and the latter could make for a near perfect single album. Anthony Childs
